Terms of service
Last updated: 16 October 2026
Note: This is a courtesy translation. Legally binding is the German version, which you can read by switching the language to DE at the top of this page.
These terms set out what applies between you and us when you use Osiris. We have kept them as short and plain as we can.
1. Scope and provider
These general terms and conditions apply to the use of Osiris — the desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux, the plugin for IntelliJ, the customer area at account.osirisui.com, Explore and Social — between you and the provider:
You may use Osiris as a consumer (§ 13 of the German Civil Code, BGB) or as a business (§ 14 BGB). Your own terms and conditions do not apply, even if we do not expressly object to them.
You buy the subscription from Tebex Limited, which sells it in its own name as merchant of record. The purchase, payment, invoice and VAT are governed by the terms Tebex shows you at checkout. These terms govern everything else: your account, your licence and your use of Osiris.
2. Account and conclusion of the contract
To use Osiris you need a free account. When you create the account — with the “Create account” button in the customer area — a contract for the use of Osiris under these terms is concluded between you and us. Until you press the button you can correct your entries in the form at any time. The language of the contract is German. We do not store the contract text separately for you; you can view, save and print these terms on this page at any time.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Your details must be true, and your e-mail address must be one at which you can be reached.
- Keep your password secret. If you suspect someone knows it, change it and let us know.
- An account belongs to one person. You may not pass it on.
- Your username is public: others see you under it in Social, in Explore and in Osiris. It must not infringe anyone's rights, mislead or insult.
3. What Osiris provides
What Osiris can do is described on the home page of this website in the version that applies when the contract is concluded. Osiris runs on your computer; your chats, projects and notes are stored there. Our servers are needed for signing in, the licence check, updates, Explore and Social.
Features marked “Beta” are expressly still being tested: they may change, be limited or be removed again.
We keep Osiris up to date and provide the updates needed for it to remain in conformity with the contract and secure (§ 327f BGB). Beyond that we may develop and change Osiris where there is a valid reason — such as new technology, changed interfaces at Claude or legal requirements —, provided this costs you nothing extra and we inform you clearly. If such a change impairs your access or use more than insignificantly, we tell you in good time beforehand, and you may terminate the contract free of charge within 30 days (§ 327r BGB).
4. Claude and other services
Osiris works with Claude by Anthropic. For this you use your own access to Claude — for example a Claude plan or an API key. That access is governed solely by Anthropic's terms and prices; it is not part of your Osiris subscription, and we do not sell it. What you send to Claude goes from your computer to Anthropic.
Answers from an AI can be wrong, incomplete or unsafe. Check code, commands and texts before you use them or let them run. How Osiris deals with AI is described on the page AI transparency.
Some features connect Osiris to other services at your request, such as ElevenLabs for voices or Spotify. For this you need an account with that service, and its terms apply. Whether and for how long a third-party service is available is beyond our control.
5. Free trial
A new account comes with a free trial of everything Osiris can do. How long it lasts is stated on this website before you create the account; it is currently 3 months. You do not provide any payment details for the trial.
The trial is available once per person and once per device. Further accounts created to get it again are not permitted. To check this, Osiris uses a pseudonymous device identifier; how it works is explained in the privacy policy.
The trial ends by itself. It does not turn into a paid subscription — you only take one out if you buy it yourself.
6. Subscription, price and payment
After the trial you can keep using Osiris with a subscription. You see the price before you buy, in the customer area and at the Tebex checkout; it is currently €4.99 a month including VAT. You can take out the subscription in the customer area towards the end of your trial.
The seller is Tebex (section 1). Tebex charges the amount every month, issues the invoice and pays the VAT. Each payment extends your licence by one month; so that a short delay in payment does not lock you out, the licence runs three days beyond the paid period.
If Tebex refunds a payment, the licence ends. If a payment is charged back — for instance by your bank or credit card company — the licence is suspended until the chargeback is resolved; if the chargeback stands, the subscription ends.
We do not change the price of a running subscription without your express consent. If you do not consent, we may terminate the subscription with the notice period set out in section 7.
Your statutory right of withdrawal as a consumer remains unaffected.
7. Term and termination
The contract of use runs for an indefinite period. The subscription runs for one month at a time and renews until it is cancelled. You can cancel it at any time with effect from the end of the month you have paid for — in the customer area, with the link in the e-mail Tebex sent you for your purchase, or in the Tebex customer portal. You keep using what you have already paid for until the end of that month.
When the subscription or the trial ends, your licence ends, and Osiris can no longer be used until you take out a subscription again. Your data stays on your computer: projects and notes are ordinary files that you can keep opening with other programs.
We may terminate the contract of use with one month's notice to the end of a subscription month, or during the trial with one month's notice. If you have paid for time beyond that date, we refund it pro rata. Both sides keep the right to terminate without notice for good cause; good cause for us is in particular a serious breach of these terms, or one repeated despite a warning.
You can have your account deleted at any time: write to us at . Please cancel a running subscription first; deleting the account ends the contract of use.
8. Rights of use
For the duration of your trial or subscription you receive the simple, non-transferable right to use Osiris for your own private and professional purposes — on as many devices as your licence allows, which is currently one. If you want to move to another device, write to us.
You may not:
- circumvent, alter or disable the licence check;
- pass on, rent out or sell Osiris, your licence or your access to others;
- decompile or reverse-engineer Osiris, except where the law expressly permits it (§§ 69d, 69e of the German Copyright Act, UrhG);
- overload or attack our servers, or read them out automatically.
Osiris contains components by third parties, including open-source software. They are governed by their own licences, which take precedence over these terms where they give you more rights.
9. Your content, Explore and Social
What you create with Osiris belongs to you. We acquire no rights to it — except where you publish something yourself.
If you publish a project in Explore, you grant us the simple, free right to show it publicly there and to keep it available for download for as long as it is published. Other users may view it, download it and adopt it in Osiris, within the licence you state for the project. If you withdraw or delete it, we stop showing it; what others have already downloaded stays with them.
You are responsible for what you publish in Explore and send in Social. In particular, the following are not permitted:
- content that infringes the rights of others, such as copyright or trade marks;
- malicious code and anything that attacks or spies on other computers;
- access data, keys and other secrets — your own included;
- insulting, harassing, hateful or otherwise unlawful content;
- spam and advertising nobody asked for.
Anyone can report a project with “Report” on its page; notices also reach us by e-mail. We may review new projects before they go live. If content breaches these rules or the law, we may reject, remove or block it and — for serious or repeated breaches — suspend your account. We tell you what we have decided and why, and you can object.
10. Availability
We do our best to keep our servers available at all times, but cannot guarantee it — for example during maintenance, faults at our hosting provider or attacks. If they are briefly unreachable, Osiris keeps running on your computer as long as your licence is valid; only signing in, updates, Explore and Social have to wait.
11. Defects
The statutory rights for defects in digital products apply (§§ 327 ff. BGB). The best way to report a fault is “Feedback” in Osiris or an e-mail to ; a short description of what you did and what happened helps us fix it fastest.
12. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and where we have given a guarantee.
For slight negligence we are only liable if we breach an essential contractual obligation — one whose fulfilment makes the use of Osiris possible in the first place and on which you may rely. Liability is then limited to the damage that was typically foreseeable when the contract was concluded.
During the free trial we are — apart from the cases in the first paragraph — only liable for intent and gross negligence.
For the loss of data we are only liable up to the effort that would have been needed to restore it from regular backups. So back up your projects regularly — with Git, for example. These limitations also apply in favour of our legal representatives and vicarious agents.
13. Data protection
What data we process and why is set out in our privacy policy.
14. Changes to these terms
We only change these terms for existing contracts with your consent. We send you the new version by e-mail beforehand and say what changes. If you do not consent, the previous terms continue to apply to you; we may then, however, terminate the contract with the notice period set out in section 7.
15. Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence.
If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from this contract is our place of business.
We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 of the German Consumer Dispute Resolution Act).
Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid. The invalid provision is replaced by the statutory rules.
